New to the Diagnosis

If you are a parent/ grandparent/ family member of a child newly diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, you may have questions or be wondering what to do next. Below is some information that may be helpful, as well as some links to other websites that have further information.
First, know you are not alone. Having a child with special needs can create feelings of isolation, and be truly isolating. Staying home, sticking to the routine, and avoiding the judgement of others becomes the path of least resistance. This is all understandable and normal; and there are some things you can do to begin to embark on this new journey. You're reading this, so you have already taken the first step.
