WALK for Autism and Autism Awareness Fair
Mark your calendar for April 24, 2010! We'll see you at the Mission
Plaza!
The WALK was a huge success! There were about 500 WALKers from all
over California. We had WALKers from Visalia, Fresno, Thousand
Oaks, Moorpark, Fullerton, Carlsbad, and so many other
amazing places. I wish we could tell all of your stories; they must
be ones of heartfelt dedication.
As you know, the month of April has been recognized as Autism
Awareness Month. The Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center has
partnered with Designs by Ja9 to create a stunningly beautiful
dichroic glass puzzle piece for this special cause.
Designs by Ja9 has already raised $410 for CCASC. Take a look
at her beautiful Autism Awareness jewelry and order some in time for
Mother's Day.

Click on the “Support Autism Awareness” link on the homepage at
www.designsbyja9.com to see the beautiful pendants. Part of the
proceeds from the sales will be donated to our organization.
Included with each pendant is a card explaining the symbolism of the
puzzle piece as an icon for Autism Awareness as well as an
acknowledgement of the donation. This is a great way to show your
support and you will love the custom glass art
Getting the word out:
Recently, CCASC has had the honor of sharing information about
autism spectrum disorders, the state of services in our county, and
how we intend to help to The Paso Robles Optimists; teachers,
staff and paraeducators at CL Smith Elementary in SLO; The San Luis
Obispo Chamber of Commerce; The Paso Robles Rotary; The Five
Cities Men's Club in South County; and to Service Co-ordinators
at Tri- Counties Regional Center. All in attendance at all
the presentations were inquisitive and asked some hard questions. It
was wonderful! Thank you to all the organizations that have asked us
to present.
If you belong to a San Luis Obispo County service organization or
corporation and
would like us to come tell you about The Center and our vision,
please contact Interim Director Juli Miller at 235-6596, or via
email at
contact@autismspectrumcenter.com.
