Arts for Autism- The Arts for Autism Gala, March 18, 19, & 20, 2011, needs volunteers to help with all aspects of event planning and execution. This is an Art Gallery showing in the Rossi Grand Lobby of the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly, with two, ticketed, "Meet the Artists" Receptions. There will be catered appetizers and wine for the receptions.

Teen Dance- Kim Richards is coordinating a Teen Dance for May 7, 2011. She needs volunteers to help with all aspects of the event. We need:

General On-Going Opportunities:
Volunteer Coordinator- The Volunteer Coordinator recruits and manages volunteers. Screens volunteers for interests and talents, and works with CEO and Development Director to place volunteers in positions that are rewarding.
Program Design and Implementation- We need talented, energetic, experienced individuals with a desire to see programs created in SLO county for all individuals affected by autism spectrum disorders. If you would love to add that you created a successful program to your resume, then this is the opportunity for you!
Office Help- Answer phones, take messages, collect mail, say "hello" to anyone that stops by. Check out books or materials from the Resource Library. Maybe some data entry.
Resource Library Manager- Organize and maintain the Resource Library. Create a system for check out and return. Train office help in this system. Asses needs for the library and purchase (with funds as available) books/ videos/ materials as needed.
Quarterly Newsletter writer- Works with CEO, Development Director, and Volunteer Coordinator to provide timely and interesting content for the newsletter. Works with website to post newsletter.
Legislative "Watchdog"- Provides timely legislative information to CEO, Development Director and website. Designs and sends emails on a regular schedule.
Web content researcher- Surf the internet and provide specific, relevant content to CEO for website. Understand the many facets of ASD, and what is of interest to the individuals we serve.
Grant researcher- Research the many foundations and grants that would be a natural fit for our organization. Make inquiries as appropriate, and provide recommendations to CEO and Development Director.
Committee Members- There are many committees that need talented individuals: Events, Fundraising, Outreach, Government Relations
Event specific volunteers- Autism Awareness Month (April), The WALK (April), Volunteer Recognition Reception (January), Crawtism (May), Arts for Autism
