Autism IS...

The majority of beautiful images in our "Autism IS..." campaign are of local families and kids that are part of our greater family- our community. Notice the Pismo Beach Pier in the image of the baby with the shovel; Evan in the lobby of the SLO Embassy Suites on the grand piano. These are simple reminders that autism affects our friends and neighbors, here, in our county.

The words in the "Autism Is..." campaign are meant to share the positive and uplifting aspects of life with autism. There is inherent value in all people, and there are unique gifts that come with autism. It is our goal to capture that inherent value, and those unique gifts with poignant photos of real people, real families, real kids. Real SLO. Please, enjoy.

The Features:
The Provider Database is a collection of local service providers that were listed on our previous site, but in an updated, user-friendly, searchable database. Simply scroll through the listed providers and click on the one you are interested in, or search by zip code, type of service, or city. If you are a provider yourself, and would like to see your information listed, we invite you to submit your information for publication.

The Events Calendar will help everyone keep track of all the exciting things happening in San Luis County and beyond. We are looking forward to having workshops, social clubs, support groups, and events all laid out in a simple, easy-to-understand format. The Upcoming Events box at the top of this page, will show imminent events, and you can always click and scroll through the calendar to look further into the future. If you have an event that might be of interest to our "audience", please submit it for publication! Easy!

Be sure to check out the Career Calendar, too. This is a place for employers to post available positions and for job seekers to post their resumes. Don't think you're an employer? Have you ever wished you could find a sitter with the right qualifications and experience? Post an ad! Ever wished you work on finding an aide or someone to work on an in-home program with you? Post an ad! And don't forget to check out the information provided by the talented people that have already posted their information for hire.
